The beautiful location on the Gaasperplas is partly a back part of the Floriade that took place in this area in the 1980s.
You can still find traces of this, eccentric trees, gardens, plantations creations are reminiscent of a beautifully landscaped decor of the Floriade at the time.
Walking around the lake is an hour’s walk and you can also regularly see people walking the migratory bird path.
In the summer, in the area near the metro stop, you will smell many barbeques smells and you will find children and bathers playing across the street at play paradise Ballorig, you can also surf, sail and canoe.
There is even a separate area for nude recreation!
A little further on there is the Prince Willem-Alexander riding school and the Gaasperplas campsite, there is a tennis court and yes, yoga classes can be followed at the lake!
The location is a 10-minute walk from public transport, which takes you to the center in 20 minutes.
The Amsterdam Arena, the Heineken Music Hall, the Ziggo Dome and the AMC are all a ten-minute bike ride away.
The small villages such as Weesp, Abcoude Loosdrecht, and Driemond are also easy to find for cyclists.
You can also rent a bike here for 7 euro a day, borrow a few roller skates or a tennis racket.
